Adjustments and Manipulation

The spinal column supports the musculoskeletal system and protects the nerves traveling between the brain and the rest of the body. Impacts or wear and tear can affect the spine’s bones and the shock-absorbing discs between them. A spine adjustment will help to realign these displaced bones or discs along the spine. Dr. Todd Dinsmore of the Dinsmore Chiropractic Clinic performs this for residents of Ontario OR and the surrounding areas, providing effective pain relief without drugs or surgery.

How Do Discs Along the Spine Become Misaligned?

When aligned optimally, the vertebrae and discs carry the weight of our bodies with the least amount of effort from the back muscles.

Jarring impacts, improper posture, carrying heavy loads - several things can cause the vertebrae and/or discs to come out of alignment. The most common reasons misalignments happen include home,  auto, and sports accidents and improper lifting practices. Regular back use over a period of time can also lead to misalignments, even with no particular incident that seems to stand out.

Misaligned vertebrae can pinch the nerves or discs in the area. When this happens, it will likely result in pain, tingling, and/or numbness. Vital organs may experience reduced function due to the lack of blood flow being supplied to the area should the connecting nerves become pinched.

Back affected muscles will also have to work harder to compensate for carrying the load that is offset from the spine.

Can a Spine Adjustment Fix Misalignments?

Yes. By using gentle adjustments, a chiropractor can manually place the vertebrae back into proper alignment. This will relieve the symptoms caused by any pinching or bulging. They can also be used to treat chronic conditions such as arthritis and sciatica.

Dinsmore Chiropractic Clinic even accepts Medicare and workman's comp insurance.
